Manhattan as you've never seen it before!
Join Michael Stiller of Michael Stiller Design for a guided tour and lighting design overview of a 40,000 square foot temporary exhibit at Pier 57 featuring a 45 x 160 foot scale model of Manhattan that visitors will be able to walk through (think Gulliver in the land of the Lilliputians). The model will be lit with 125 automated, RGBW LED moving-head fixtures controlled by time code to synchronize their movement and color with a show control system that will also control a 36 inch RGBAW "sun" that tracks over the "city" in a 24 minute day-to-night cycle.
The show control system will also trigger projected media to simulate the appearance of traffic tail-lights and other fun stuff. Another 300 or so conventional fixtures will provide the rest of the exhibit and area lighting, including a pop-up retail space.
The exhibit is being built to promote the international release of a new, super-secret software product. Details on the product and the client will be released after the exhibit opening, on October 25th.
Admission is free! November 1st starting at 5pm; contact Michael@michaelstiller.com for more information or to register.
