Abbey Renfrew

Abbeyreceived a Grant for her exploration of the lighting needs forspecialised facilities dedicated to the treatment of traumatic braininjury (TBI), a leading injury of soldiers returning from the war inIraq. Her work has led to the development of preliminary designcriteria for patients suffering from TBI and other conditions withsymptoms of photophobia.

Saiko Terahara

Saiko was awarded aGrant for her use of daylight in creating an art medium. Her concept ofa “light vessel”, an environment of direct and reflected light whichchanges according to the time of day and season, explores therelationship between personal experience and the physical world.
