The IESNYC recognizes excellence in the field of lighting by sponsoring annual awards programs and design grants.

Brilliance Award - recognizes an IESNYC member for their dedication and contribution to the Section and the NYC lighting community


Lumen Award - recognizes excellence, professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design

IES Section Meritorious Award
- presented in recognition of 15 or more years of outstanding service to the Section that has significantly furthered the purpose of the Society continuously in various programs and activities
 
IES Section Service Award

Lighting Research Center (LRC) Thesis Prize - recognizes a graduate of the MS Lighting, MS in Arch. Sciences, or Ph.D in Arch. Sciences degree programs at the Lighting Research Center at RPI

Parsons Thesis Prize - recognizes a graduate of the MFA in Lighting degree program at Parsons The New School for Design in New York, NY

Richard Kelly Grant - recognizes and rewards innovative work by young professionals in the art or science of illumination

Student Lighting Competition - empowers students to explore light as an art form, demonstrate light as a stimulus, and prove light as a valuable medium
